Family Grant Fund

The MedEvac Foundation Family Grant Fund offers financial assistance to families of air medical crew members and their patients immediately following a fatal or serious accident to cover unanticipated expenses.

Expenses include:

  • Travel and lodging
  • Leave of absence
  • Childcare
  • Medical expenses
  • Bereavement services

How the program works:

  • Funds are administered through the air medical program. Family members do not need to apply. The program will distribute checks from MedEvac Foundation directly to the next of kin.
  • The Family Grant Fund is a gift to the families affected, and does not need to be repaid.
  • For an air medical program or operator to receive funding, MedEvac Foundation must have a signed affidavit stating they have a Family Assistance Plan as a part of the overall Post Accident Incident Plan (PAIP). Click here to download the affidavit.

If you would like to distribute information about the Family Grant Fund to crew members, please download this flyer.

A recent Family Grant Fund recipient wrote --

“On behalf of the family of Chris Ritz, please accept our thanks for your generous gift. Because of this we were able to assist our son and daughter-in-law; brother and his family; and our 86 year old mother all travel to Susanville to attend Chris’ services. As his parents, it was very comforting to be able to help defray their travel expenses so they could be with us during this time. You are wonderful people...”
