Mission Statement

The MedEvac Foundation International supports the Association of Air Medical Services, its members, their families, and the patients they serve by:

  • Investing in and supporting research that improves the quality, safety, and effectiveness of Air Medical and Critical Care Ground Transport programs
  • Developing professional education and information programs
  • Fostering public support for the Air Medical and Critical Care Ground Transport Industry's contributions to saving lives, our health care systems, and our communities
  • Supporting AAMS’ members and their families through scholarships, grants, and other charitable programs

The MedEvac Foundation International is the international air medical and critical care ground transport community’s leading charitable organization. We fund programs and charitable activities that support AAMS’ members and their families, who serve their communities with pride and commitment and provide life-saving services throughout the United States and around the world.

Rick is an experienced executive with over 20 years of demonstrated leadership in government and the private-sector. His experience includes an extensive background in strategic planning, operations, training, resource management, and human resource management, as well as rotor wing aviation operations, maintenance, and safety programs.  Rick has transitioned from the U.S. Army after a very challenging and rewarding career, completing his military service as a Major General. Most recently, he served as the Chief of Staff and as the Director of Strategy, Plans, and Programs for U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany.  Rick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University, a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College.

Jane Chittick, CFRE, joined as Chief Development Officer of the MedEvac Foundation International in March 2013.  She has extensive senior-level fundraising experience in universities and health care. Most recently, she was Assistant Vice President for Major Gifts at American University.  Prior to that, she worked at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Suffolk University, Tucson Medical Center Foundation and was founding CEO of El Rio Community Health Foundation (Tucson). As a longtime member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Jane has attained the status of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).   A graduate of Wheaton College, Norton MA, she also holds a MA in French Literature from Trinity College, Hartford CT and also from there a Graduate Certification in Education.  Originally from Massachusetts, she has lived and worked in Paris, Martha’s Vineyard, Tucson and the DC area.  She resides on Capitol Hill.

Erik is in charge of the Raiser's Edge gift processing and revenue reporting for the Foundation, as well as working on the Annual Fund and other development projects.  Most recently Erik was at the U.N. Foundation where he was a Data Base Coordinator/Gift Processor using Raiser's Edge, and before that he worked at the YMCA of Metropolitan D.C.  There, he helped centralize the development operations among  their 17 branches in DC, NOVA, and Southern Maryland, and where he also was a Raiser's Edge specialist.  Prior to that, he served as a Fundraising and Development Officer at the Arena Stage, in D.C.  He has also served in the Peace Corps in Honduras and has been a Board Member of a D.C. Public Charter School.  Erik speaks Spanish, and enjoys the theater and arts.  He's a graduate of George Mason University.
